Entrepreneurial motivation requires more than ability to face adversity with a positive attitude. I’ve been on this journey with Digitize Us for only three years and it has proven to be a mixture of challenges, triumphs and disasters. However, the recurring theme of this journey is definitely the reinvention and design of creative ways to stay focused on the target. For a long time, I spent many days working without a clear goal. However, entrepreneurship is a different ball game. There is no success without a target.
Entrepreneurial Motivation – continued
It took a while, but I had to come to grips with the fact that I spent all of my collegiate experience at an amazing institution where I literally walked past schools of graphic design & journalism plus computer information sciences. Yes, I wanted to major in these, but a part of me was intimidated and pressed to leave school within four years. The workforce taught me that a focused target is and was more important than the paycheck. Although learning is still ongoing, technology is the most fulfilling career path that I have been on thus far.
Now that there is a more defined purpose to my career, I’m finding that the process of creating new ways to stay motivated is equally important as the financial gain. Sometimes, the act of creating motivation is the reward that lasts longer than a sermon, piece of advice, or lecture. The purpose of this image is to remind all entrepreneurs including myself that staying motivated is a choice. Drinking coffee to stay encouraged is not the answer, but the image makes fun of the struggle to keep your head in the game. This image was created to express how it feels to wear multiple hats. This is an alternative to complaining. Laughter is the best medicine.
