Last week, Digitize Us (Finlay Technologies LLC) got approved as an official Miami Dade County Public Schools vendor and provider of web, graphics, and app development services. The best part is knowing that our business can provide service to the entity that facilitated my education.
Miami Dade County Public Schools Vendor
15 years ago, I told the judges on the panel of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools Silver Knight Award committee that I planned to dedicate my life to service to the arts. As a Miami Dade County Public Schools vendor there are already plans to go above and beyond for the district to adhere to this commitment. These plans will remain in house as experience proves that less talk and more execution is most effective.
We are currently working on a responsive website for a middle school. The focus of the project is to create a calendar in which administrators can update the events in one place that with will automatically show in other places of the site. One of the current challenges with the draft is to speed up the loading time of the site. Another challenge is ensuring that the site is ADA complient. This involves research and editing.
Also, the school benefits most from a site that has unique password perimeters set in place. Ideally, specific faculty and staff members can access certain aspects of the site with their username and passwords. For example, an activities director can log into the site with his or her password and access the calendar. This functionality involves the creation of a new site for each user.
The draft is currently being constructed with the use of the builder theme and a slider plugin. One of the perks of such a theme is the ability import and export files. The slider also offers this capability which saves both time and effort. The school can display its current site while construction is underway. Stay tuned.
